This Week: Kate Moss for Tophshop and My New Business Cards

I have been invited to attend an event tomorrow night to preview the Kate Moss TOPSHOP 2014 collection. In Kate Moss’ own words during a resent interview with Fashionbite the current collection due to hit stores in a few days has a slightly more sophisticated vibe then past collaborations with the brand and based on some of the early pics that have already hit the net it also reflects Moss’ own signature brand of effortless cool.  I’m really looking forward to seeing the pieces up close and personal and getting first dibs on hot new options for my clients.

I am also excited because I will have my new business cards with me and as an entrepreneur every event I attend doubles as a networking opportunity. I wanted a new logo and business card design with a simple, modern and vaguely zen ascetic and recently had them redesigned by Doug Massey.  I’m so happy with the results, he created exactly what I was looking for. If ever in need of awesome graphic design services Massey who also happens to be an amazing photographer can be contacted at

Dress Like a Celeb at a Fraction of the Cost

If you haven’t been to it’s a must see, especially with holiday party season  right around the corner.  This genius idea started in 2009 by Jennifer Hyman and Jennifer Fleiss is an online service that allows you to rent high-end designer dresses and accessories from designers like Badgley Mischka, Vera Wang and Calvin Klein at a fraction of the cost.

The concept behind the service is that you sign up for a free online membership which gives you access to thousands of designer dresses. You rent a gown for 4 to 8 days which includes a back-up size to ensure the right fit with sizes ranging from 0 to 16 depending on the designer. They also offer a second dress style with your rental for an additional $25. Click here to see some of your favorite celebs in some of the looks available at

Hukkster Alerts You When The Stuff You Want Goes On Sale

 photo hukkster_zpsad23c64c.jpg

One of the many benefits of working with a personal stylist is having a shopping expert at your fingertips who’s always on top of where to find the right pieces at the best prices. Unfortunately not everyone has access to a stylist all of the time, but that doesn’t mean you have to miss out on scoring awesome deals.

That’s where comes in. Hukkster takes away the frustration of weeding through an inbox flooded with sales alerts or the buyer’s remorse that comes with splurging on that must have item just to find out a week later its on sale for 50% off.

The name may sound a little crazy, but the simple concept behind is genius. If you’re shopping online and see something you want, but the price isn’t quite right you can Hukk the item (using your Hukk button bookmarked in your browser) and specify the price you’re willing to pay. If it later reaches that price via markdowns, coupons or other discounts, Huckster notifies you via e-mail or text. Once you’ve hukk’d an item, Hukkster also saves the product information so you can view, organize into lists and share it at any time.

Celeb Look for Less

Kim Kardashian has been spotted out and about wearing a cute pair of cage booties by Christian Louboutin, YSL. While hers cost a whopping $500 you can get a look-a-like pair from the Prabel Gurung for Target collection at a much more reasonable price of $39.99.

Jason Wu Launches New Line At Lower Price Point

I’ve got great news for all of you Jason Wu fans out there. Jason Wu has just announced a new line at affordable prices. Prices for the new line, called Miss Wu lie in between the target collection and his main collection, which means his clothes will again be accessible to people with regular incomes.  It will be available in Nordstrom this coming January and will eventually expand into other stores after the first year.

Wu describes this line as more relaxed and downtown then his main line, but still feminine and soft and like the target line will have a bit of a vintage edge. The striped shirts, feminine blouses, little shifts, A-line dresses, floral skirts, trench coats and leather jackets will range in price from $195-$795 and he plans to add accessories in 2014. Great News!

Get the Anthropologie Look For Less

If you read this blog then you probably know I’m a huge fan of Anthropologie and if you’ve ever shopped there you also know their prices can leave a lot to be desired. Don’t get me wrong I don’t plan on giving up my Anthropology fix anytime soon, but I’m also no fool. If I can find something similar for a fraction of the cost, I’m all over it. One of my go-tos for Anthropologie like pieces at budget friendly prices is Mod Cloth. They have an adorable selection of dresses, vintage pieces that sell like hotcakes and the cutest one of kind shoes you’ll find pretty much anywhere.

One of the dresses below is from Mod Cloth and costs $140 less then the other which is from Anthropologie, can you guess which is which? Answer below…

Summer Outfit from Anthropologie

This is one of my favorite summer outfits at the moment. I love the fit of this dress and the pockets add a touch of adorable to it’s simple design. The neutral color and shape  is also great because I can literally style this dress a zillion different ways. I’ve layered it underneath a white oxford shirt tied at the waist and loose knit cardigans, paired it with bold statement necklaces and summer scarves in fun colors like the one pictured here, the options are endless. It’s also a very light fabric so it’s perfect for summer heat. This outfit is all from Anthropologie. I usually make it a habit to mix and match pieces from different stores and lines, but I make an exception for Anthropologie because I can’t help getting carried away in this store.

These items are available at Anthropologie.

As a personal stylist many of my clients express how they’d like to wear dresses more often, but just haven’t had luck finding the right looks on their own. But, for those of you who don’t have your very own personal shopper Refinery29 did a quick round-up of 15 cute spring dresses all reasonably priced under $200. Click here to view. Tailored Blazers for Tall and Busty Women

As a woman who’s a bit taller then average I know how frustrating it can be to find blazers that fit right. It’s not uncommon to find an awesome looking blazer just to have to put it right back on the rack because it’s too short in the arms or torso. Women who are on the bustier side also have fit issues with blazers as in buttons popping open or being unable to button it over the chest at all. Thankfully someone has finally realized this gap in the market and done something about it. Quincy Apparel has just launched a website that caters to tall and busty women and states this on their site “It’s not custom, but rather a reinvention of traditional dress sizes to allow you to shop by bust, body shape, and height with every garment.” Is this long overdue or what?
